Microsoft Excel
This program which has a structure of rows and columns used to perform calculations of numbers based on their cell addresses, auddition functions, charts are used to represent data for accounting and other business purposes. eg. Lotus 123, Microsoft Excel, etc. The following are areas which you will cover during this course:
Creating a Workbook
Saving work and closing Workbooks
Opening a Workbook
Close a Worksheet
Finding and Previewing Files (display file names form different folders as one list, ways to speed up file searches, sort a list of files, use file properties to find files)
Managing Files (Copy , Delete, Move, Rename a file)
Converting files to and from Microsoft Excel.
Working with workbooks and and worksheets (moving around in workbook, managing worksheets, changing what you see on the screen, arranging worksheet windows, saving display and print settings and view, saving your workspace)
Entering data and selecting cells (Entering numbers with decimal places or trailing zeros; automatically fill in database on adjacent cells; cancel or undo an entry; change options for entering and editing data;typing characters that are not on the keyboard; tips on entering date, time, numbers, text)
Editing Worksheet Data ( Editing cell content; clear or delete cells, rows or columns; clear contents, formats or comments from cells; undo mistakes, repeat the last actions, separate text across cells)
Finding or Replacing data.
Inserting, Copying and Moving Cells and Data (Move or copy cell data; copy only values, formulas, comments or cell formats, copy only visible cells, switch rows of cells to columns, or columns to rows; Insert cells, rows or columns).
Checking spelling and Correcting Typing Errors.
Formatting Text and Cells ( Copy formats from one range to another; Change the size, font, color of text; display multiple lines of text format within a cell; highlight values that meet conditions you specify, format a pivot table).
Applying Borders, Shading and Background patterns (apply and remove borders to cells; shade cells with solid colour; shade cells with patterns; remove shading; apply and remove background patterns to entire sheets).
Position Cells and Text within Cells (change column width and row height; display multiple lines of text within a cell:merge cells to span several columns or rows; split a merged cell into separate cell).
Formatting Numbers, Dates, and Times (change the way Microsoft Excel displays numbers, dates and times, format numbers as text; display formulas or formua results on a worksheet, create a custom number format).
Formatting Quickly with Styles and Built-in Formats ( Create a new style; remove a style from selected cells; copy styles from another workbook).
Printing ( Print preview before printing; print the active sheet, a selected range, or an entire workbook; view the printing status of the printer and files as they print; send a fax setting up a printer; change the layout, page breaks and margins of a printed workbook; changing the Headers and Footers; printing custom reports).
Creating an online or printed form ( create a form; Worksheet form; format a Worksheet to use as a form; guidelines for printing an online form; tips for creating and formatting forms; fill out an online form).
Adding buttons and other controls to a Worksheet (add buttons, check boxes, or other controls to a Worksheet; change, move or resize a button, check box; other controls creat forms for data entry).
Creating formulas and editing Workbooks ( entering formulas, editing formulas, using references, using functions, working with labels and names, working with arrays, controlling calculations, linking workbooks, understanding errors returned by formulas, worksheet function reference, auditing workbooks).
